BMF Elettriche Modular Type System is a project that begun in 1997 by Alessio Leonardi. The main aim was to create a modular typeface in which each module could be substitute by another as quickly and automatic as possible in order to create a lot of different fonts from the same grid.
During this project, Leonardi explored also the world of modularity in daily life and especially in typography.
The first release of the BMF Elettriche presents a set of 648 typefaces together with 272 Pi & Symbol fonts, but this is only the beginning! In the near future BuyMyFonts.com will publish more BMF Elettriche typefaces - with new modules, but also new structures and completely new appearances.
